Life Saving

An evening with

Sheerness Swimming Club and Lifeguard Corps

8th Sheppey Cubs were invited to learn a number of basic life saving techniques by Sheerness Swimming Club and Lifeguard Corps.

They attended one of the swimming clubs regular training sessions at Haven Holiday camp swimming pool, where a number of the regular lifeguards passed on some basic skills.

All of the cubs who attended the session attained the "Lifesavers Rookie Stage badge 1" which was certified by Philip Crowder and David Osbourne who run the rookie section of Sheerness Swimming Club and Lifeguard Corps.

The lessons they learnt allows them to help someone in trouble but just as importantly how to remain safe at the same time, so that they do not need rescuing as well as the person they are trying to help

Many thanks to Philip, David and the members for providing a fun and informative evening for the Cubs and Leaders
